Fear Fades
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
My darling, I am in places of fear. I go there to chase it away, trample it with my foot. Heading into new territory with Me is a beginning to trust Me more deeply. It is a forgetfulness of self, a reliance on Me, a looking to Me for strength.
Fear can’t stay when your eyes are on Me, when you seek Me. It must flee because you are willing to go where I go.
A softening occurs when a heart formerly full of fear relaxes and looks to Me. Focus on Me wipes it away. The situation causing the fear may still exist, but there is hope now. There is truth now. There is clarity. You can only see clearly when you look to Me—for strength, for understanding, for wisdom, for courage. The mindset of fear focuses on the self.
Let Me help you turn your heart to Me.
Going out into unfamiliar territory—being stretched, walking in faith, does not mean you are alone. Fear should be most distant then. I am with you. I go with you, there in the places I call you to. I said it before: keep your eyes on Me, child.
My eyes are on you.

“I broke the mold when I made you. I break it every time I make a daughter and every time I make a son. You are perfectly created, with the perfect aptitude, the perfect qualifications … for being you. Do not waste your days with a distaste for yourself, a belief that you are lacking. Keep dreaming, child. Keep wondering. Keep finding Me, and delighting in Me. Over and over again.” → Try saying those words aloud. How do they settle in your heart? Do they feel true? Or more like facts you can’t quite relax into and trust? If you want to go deeper, I recommend reading the full devotional here (it’s free to download and share).
As women, we can be hard on ourselves, can’t we? After all, we’re taught by this world of ours to always be looking for ways to improve—because we are never good enough. Most of us don’t even know where to start when it comes to being merciful to ourselves. But it’s Jesus’ love that transforms us into the women He created us to be—nothing and no one else can do that for us. His love heals us and frees us to see the beauty He placed inside us from the very beginning. We don’t have to spend most, or all, of our lives trying to prove ourselves. Holy Spirit offers us another way.
We serve a God who loves to hear our requests—no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. There is nothing too temporal or too “earthly” that He doesn’t want to hear us talk about with Him. But let’s remember, too, that there is nothing too hard for our King. We are free to ask big, bold prayers! So how do we learn to pray like that? This article offers some practical help.
